So, it has been a VERY VERY LONG time since I last posted on this portal but I felt compelled to write on here tonight.  Today, I went on a date with a very nice young woman named Cassandra.  We complete each other and hold many of the same values.  I am blessed to have met her and hope that God will bless our paths.

Striking is at the heart of my education right now...here I sit in the Porter Lounge waiting until 12:30 when I have my ONE class that is NOT cancelled...and its 9:00 A.M. right now and I have been on campus since 6:45 A.M.  Six hours of useless time...but, I understand why they are striking and I agree with them so I guess I should just shut up!!!

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...it was my summer that went by in a flash.  It is amazing to think how fast time truly flies and how important it is to live in the moment - something, I still need to learn how to do.  Two weeks from today, I will resume my education at Eastern Michigan University broadening my horizons in the art of learning how to teach and cope with everyday life challenges in the world of educating young adults in basic academia.  Such is life though to everything - there is an end and a beginning...

Why is growing up so hard?  The older I get the less advice I receive from my parents that I like.  Even more so, the older I get...the more dilemmas and advice that I need.  After much thought and consideration, I will not be going to my pastor's mother's funeral service on Friday and rather pay my respects on Thursday evening at the funeral home so I won't be out more money at work!  Yes, I am a tight dog but I have to remember that I am going to Italy in September...and, I need another summer job...

....and I'm really tired....
....and my cousin Kelly is coming out to stay with us for a week beginning on Sunday...
....and I'm going to bed...I'll write more tomorrow...

Jim
